Laiti Jewelers
Laiti jewelers is located in Downtown Houghton, Michigan. We offer a wide variety of diamond and color stone gold and silver jewelry. We are also a full service repair center with two jewelers on hand to repair or recreate your old jewelry. With our new building, we will soon have our diamond room ready, where you can shop for an engagement ring or special gift in private. We are very knowledgeable in both diamond and colored stones, and can help you choose the perfect piece. Our store atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and we welcome questions, whether you need help finding a stone or would like to know how your jewelry will be repaired.
Mark ButkeMark

Mark is a fourth generation jeweler. Growing up in a jewelry store and seeing how everything was made drove him to want to have his chance at the bench. Starting with gold work and clock repair in high school, he furthered his education by going to college for gold work. In 1994, he took over the family store, moving it from downtown Hancock to the Copper Country Mall in Houghton, where it stayed for 19 years. In 2010, another dream of Mark’s was realized when he was able to move the store to downtown Houghton, basing the remodeling on the design of the store his father had worked at.

Mark is trained in gold work, clock repair, diamonds, gemstones, and the most current forms of jewelry repair. He loves working with people and is always willing to teach them about diamonds and gemstones. He loves a challenge, especially working on impossible repair jobs, creating one of a kind pieces, and of course, making the store bigger and better.
